We as a group of ladies united in a cause for Christ must:

1. Pray for one another.

2. Love all the ladies not just the ones you like:

PURPOSE FOR THE WM’S- To fulfill the Great Commission to take the Gospel into the entire world, and secondly, to serve as a means through which women can mature in their Christian life through discovery, development and demonstration of their ministry gifts.

Surviving the Storm

When a storm comes, you can do one of two things: You can grow through it or you can simply go through it.

Even a natural storm leaves freshness and new growth, so do the Spiritual storms that come into our lives. However, in order to enjoy the benefits we must do the following three things:

1. We need to accept the fact that storms will come. In Matthew 5:45 Jesus said “He gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good and sends rain on the just and the rain on the unjust too.”

Being a Christian doesn’t guarantee that we won’t have storm in our lives. God is God, and He allows storms without having to explain why. But we can find peace in knowing that He is all knowing and wise.

2. We need to remember that God is in control. We should draw comfort from knowing that God is the God of the storm. Furthermore, He is far bigger that any storm that He may allow in our lives, we must never allow the winds of worry to whip away our confidence. “Let him have all your worries and cares, for He is always thinking about you and watching everything that concerns you” 1 Peter 5:7

3. We need to focus on God. Worship keeps our focus in the right place. Worship is the place we can lay down all our questions and find peace. We must continue to remind ourselves not to focus on our circumstances, but keep our focus on the one who can calm the storms- Jesus Christ.

In Psalms 16:8, David said “I have set the Lord always before me. Because He is my right hand, I will not be shaken.

By saying that we should not be shaken, David was talking about the unique sense of security we can experience when we trust God. Even though God does not exempt believers from the daily circumstances of life, He does promise to strengthen us, protect us, and be with us no matter what comes our way.

God placed a rainbow in the sky to remind us of His promise. He promises really do add color to a gray day. So when raindrops start falling on your head, reach for your boots, look to the Lord and start singing in the rain!

WM Retreat

Greetings from Geneva:

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” Ephesians 2:10

Yes, we are God’s workmanship, and I believe this year is going to be a great year to draw closer to the Lord and also to expand our WM’s.

Sometimes it is easy to lose sight of our goals, to win ladies young and elder into our fellowship and to love those that are hurting, like single moms, widows, and the lost. During our Brotherhood & WM Christmas get together, one of our young ladies came up to me and expressed how welcome we had all made her feel and that it was the kind of response we want to hear. I am so excited about this year and what we will accomplish if we will only do the Lord’s will.

Sometimes we feel that we don’t have a lot of influence on anybody, but you do. Offer God your talents and your relationships, and begin using them to touch your world with love of Christ. It’s amazing to me how some people have great singing ability, but want use it, and other talents that just sit dormant, that is really sad, so use the talents you have and God will bless you over and above what you could ever ask or think.

God is calling women to leadership with character. Real character comes from devotion with God. Just as Enoch was a man who “walked with God” (Gen. 5:24) and “pleased God” (Heb. 11:5), so we need to live a life that is pleasing to God.

Yours in Christ,

Geneva
